"Psychobilly freakout
I never know how to take psychobilly bands. Are you supposed to be freaked out or is it a tongue-in-cheek thing?
 
Calgary’s Psychobilly Quintet the Rigormorticians’ Feb. 7 show in
Henotic’s upstairs lounge with the Phantom Creeps, was all about the
fun.
They were dressed in zombie makeup and had a skull with glowing
red eyes as a backdrop for their very tight set full of songs about
coffins, creepy crawlies and zombies, though they were more punk than
’billy. Their lead guitarist has some serious chops and more
importantly they were having fun on stage, which meant the packed crowd
was also having a good time, singing along with lines like “When I say
rigor, you say ‘mort,’ when I say open, you say ‘sore'"
